The waters of the Ombrone river, thanks to a canal, are directed to the bridge by a concrete dam, whose construction in 1879 is remembered by a pyramid that overrides the point of the branch. It is a submissive date that replaced the area where Ponte Tura is located, the "steccaia" made by Vittorio Fossombroni, destroyed several times, and then rebuilt as a result of the floods of the river
