Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Low bridge at Thornton Thornton was within the Fife coalfield and its station, which was just to the right of this bridge, was notorious for continually subsiding. This bridge, which is the access to the golf course and club house, also shows the effects of mining activities, being strengthened throughout with a cage made from old rails. The length of the bridge is partly explained by three branches once converging into the main Edinburgh to Dundee line at this former junction station.
