Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Loutrophore. Old Protoattic, (690 BCE). Athens, terracotta painted in black, attributed to the Painter of Analatos. Here we find the heritage of the geometric style: braids, teeth-of-wolf, rosettes coming from the East. But the figurative scenes gain in importance, with numerous incisions that emphasize the locks of the manes and the line drawing of the faces and the women, dressed in punched "peploi". Couples, men in black and women in white, participate in a round with the rhythm by a double flute player. H. 80 cm, D. 27.5 cm. Greek antiquities, room 170 showcase 25 : "salle des Sept-Cheminées". Sully, 1st stage. Inv. CA 2985.
H. 80 cm, D. 27,5 cm. Antiquités grecques, salle 170, vitrine 25 : salle des Sept-Cheminées. Sully, 1er étage. Inv. CA 2985.
