Description
English: The first ever chronograph, although its maker, Louis Moinet, called it a “compteur de tierces.” According to hallmarks on the dust cover, the chronograph was started in 1815 and completed the following year.
Français : Il s’agit du premier chronographe jamais réalisé, appelé également « compteur de tierces » par son auteur, Louis Moinet. Les poinçons identifiés sur le fond du boîtier permettent d’affirmer qu’il a été entrepris en 1815 et terminé en 1816.
Deutsch: Der erste Chronograph der Welt, von seinem Erbauer Louis Moinet als “compteur de tierces” bezeichnet. Er hatte eine Stoppuhrfunktion mit einer Stoppmöglichkeit auf 1/60 s und war damit genauer als heutige mechanische Chronographen. Dies wurde durch eine extrem schnell schwingende Unruh mit 216.000 Schwingungen pro Stunde ermöglicht.
