Français : Autoportrait de Louis Joseph César Ducornet, 1852. L'artiste s'est représenté assis dans un fauteuil capitonné vert, tenant la palette et son pinceau avec ses pieds, face au chevalet, en train de terminer le portrait d'une jeune femme. Il est entouré de sculptures posées sur des sellettes et d'accessoires. Derrière lui, en partie tronquée par le cadrage, sa toile Saint Denis prêchant dans les Gaules atteste de la capacité de l’artiste à réaliser de grands formats malgré son handicap. Peint en 1844, le tableau ne peut plus être dans son atelier en 1852 puisqu’il orne à cette date la chapelle Saint-Denis de l’église Saint-Louis-en-l’Île.
