Summary
[edit]DescriptionLoreto Meteorite.jpg |
English: Photograph of the Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico, meteorite brought back by Harvey Harlow Nininger (1887-1986). Through Stuart H. Perry (1874-1957), a newspaper publisher and authority on meteorites, who made extensive collections of meteorites, the Loreto meteorite and many other specimens were donated to the United States National Museum (USNM). The Loreto meteorite, a find of 1896, was originally approximately 95 kg. The main mass of 90 kg is now in Smithsonian Institution's collection. Modest amounts were distributed to other major collections. |
