English: PACIFIC OCEAN (June 22, 2015) Surgeons, Lt. Cmdr Kristin Stevens and Lt. Victoria McDonald, both from Honolulu, show their Hawaii pride by doing the "shaka" during Pacific Partnership 2015. McDonald has been following in Stevens’ footsteps from high school to medical school to working side by side on the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Mercy is currently underway to its next stop of PP15, Papua New Guinea. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals. Additionally, the mission has provided critical infrastructure development to host nations through more than 180 engineering project. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Araceli Alarcon/RELEASED) |
