English: The Honor Guard from Chapin High School’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps of El Paso, Texas presented the colors for the groundbreaking ceremony at Logan Elementary School, April 17, here. Featured are rifleman Matthew Magee, carrying the U.S. Flag – Collin Lyle, carrying the Flag of Texas – Brianna Gilbert, and rifleman Farjam Ashrafzadeh. Logan is the first of 20 schools selected by Department of Defense for funding in the amount of more than $13 million for the scheduled construction. The school is scheduled to be open in the fall of 2014. The project will replace all of the old campus except the pre-kindergarten wing, and the new all-purpose building, which opened two years ago. |
