Description
English: At 4:32 p.m., on July 2, 1922, during a thunderstorm, a lightning bolt apparently struck the grain elevators at Locust Point and started a fire. This photograph shows Pier 5 at the height of the blaze, which caused over $2 million in damage. On page 13 of the July 1922 Baltimore and Ohio Magazine.
