Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A lockout tongs or lockout scissors and a padlock used for locking out industrial equipment. By putting a padlock on the source of energy (electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic pressure, or others), workers may adjust or repair machinery with less likelihood of injury. Lockout scissors are often applied to the disconnecting switches for electric motor driven machinery, for example. Many workers can each put a personal lock on the same set of scissors, and it cannot be removed until all workers have unlocked, signifying they are clear of the equipment.
