Loch Chesney

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Loch Chesney This shallow loch, half covered by reed beds, is surrounded on three sides by conifer plantations. To the north (the right of the photo) lies Craighalloch Moor and the Fell of Craighalloch- the old pronunciation of Keryhalloch suggests the name is derived from Gaelic 'ceathramh an teallaich' - quarter-land of the forge (from Place Names of the Wigtownshire Moors and Machars by John McQueen).
