Summary
[edit]DescriptionLoading a Mastiff Armoured Vehicle onto a C17 in Afghanistan MOD 45157871.jpg |
English: A Mastiff armoured vehicle onboard a RAF C17 waiting to be returned to the UK from Camp Bastion in July 2014. The Joint Movement Unit personnel take great care in loading there cargo onto the C17 in order not to cause damage to either the cargo or the aircraft itself.
As part of the end of combat operations in Afghanistan the Army and Royal Air Force work alongside each other to transport two Mastiff armoured vehicles back to the UK on 16 July 14 from Camp Bastion. The Mastiffs are no longer required as British troops reduce the number of operations they are involved in and the number of troops on the ground. The closure of Camp Bastion will be complete by the end of 2014.
