Summary
[edit]DescriptionLiverpool Railway Bridge, New South Wales 02.jpg |
English: The former Liverpool Footbridge was accessed from Newbridge Road on the eastern side of the George's River or from Lighthorse Park on the western side of the River. The pylons are all that remain of the original railway bridge structure.
The bridge is a substantial structure at a considerable height over the watercourse. It consists of a series of large cylindrical concrete posts embedded in the George's River. Supported by the posts was a metal-grid frame with a wooden base that formed a public walkway, however some time after the railway was dismantled, in around 2007 the pedestrian bridge was dismantled due to concerns for its structural integrity.
