Summary
[edit]DescriptionLittle Toller Farmhouse - Toller Fratrum - geograph.org.uk - 697697.jpg |
English: Little Toller Farmhouse - Toller Fratrum. A Grade II* Listed manor farmhouse, it was built in the mid-C16 for John Samways of Winterborne St Martin who bought the manor in 1540. To the left at the southwest corner, at rightangles to the main building, is a small C19 wing. The house is remarkable for its stone carvings, which includes a pair of barley twist chimney stacks either side of a figure of a monkey 697703. At the right hand end there is also the figure of a griffin on a finial, atop an octagonal buttress 697717. |
