Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Linnels Bridge near Corbridge. Keys to the Past Web Site: This bridge is built of sandstone and has a single arch. Near the centre is a raised slab which carried an inscription and the date 1581. This was probably from the first bridge built to replace the ford across the river. In 1684 eight people were fined for letting the bridge fall into disrepair. The present bridge probably dated from 1698.
