| Description |
English: With a 'free' day slotted for today we decided to head to Linnanmaki to soak up the fun of the fair. Why we don't have a permanent fairground in a City Centre in the northwest mystifies me. It works so well in Europe.
This colourful ride looks initially like a ferris wheel but it isn't. It's a large horizontal wheel with single cars that hang from it. It rotates until the cars move into the same plane as the wheel through centripetal acceleration and then the horizontal wheel is hydraulically ramped up into vertical as the cars keep spinning. In principle the constant acceleration should make the ride relatively benign, but I'm still not going near it. |
