Description
English: Shows that the final weight over initial weight ratio (Wfinal/Winitial) of mouse kidney tissue rose sharply in NaCl and LiCl solutions of increasing concentration. To produce maximum swelling, both the specific cation Na+ (or Li+) and Cl anion are essential. In solutions containing only sucrose and MgSO4, no swelling occurred at all.
