Description
Italiano: Il più grande Gomphidae europeo,dimensioni lunghezza 70-80 mm, apertura alare 72-80 mm. E’ di colorazione biancastra o giallastra e presenta, soprattutto sulla parte superiore dell’addome, disegni neri o marroni. Il maschio risulta alla vista più scuro per la presenza di microscopiche spine nere sull’addome.Segnalata in Italia per pochissime stazioni in Toscana, Umbria, Molise, Campania e Sardegna.Quest'esemplare e’ stata rinvenuto presso zone paludose della Puglia,sembra che sia ilprimo avvistamento in questa regione,precisamente nel comune di Lecce. Il periodo di volo è Maggio - Agosto.
