English: Manufacturing styles of vehicle registration plates of the United States. Grey states issue only embossed plates. Dark red states issue only flat-screened plates. Bright red states issue embossed standard-issue plates and flat-screened optional types and, in some states, non-passenger types. Light red states mostly issue embossed plates but issue a limited number of flat-screened optional types. |
