"Dear Dad: Just a few lines containing the same sort of information that might be by the censors. I’m in the best of physical health and my luck is still holding out. I think that as far as my personal welfare is concerned that’s about all I can say. What sort of holiday season did they have at home? Were any of the old guard around and were the usual hang-overs accumulated? Did the Sears hold “open house”, or did the present conditions pub a damper on that time honored custom?"
