English: "April 2, 1941

Dear Dad:

I received your last letter Monday, but have been too busy, until now, to answer it. The books arrived about two weeks ago and the paper started coming regularly dated March 17th. I can’t begin to describe how I enjoy the latter. Thanks a million.

Things go on about the same down here. No cessation of work, no improvement in the food and, from the looks of things, no apparent relief in sight.
