Description
English: "May 15, 1941

Dear Dad:

I received your letter today and am breaking all records by answering it upon the day of receipt. As I have observed before any attempt at writing involves a herculean task, as every word represents an average of ten mosquito bites. I know that the general theme of all of my letters is mosquitos, but the constant drone of them in my ears, as I attempt to write, excludes all other thoughts from my mind. It is most disconcerting to start a paragraph and then have to desist, after penning about two words, in order to clear your hands of the swarms of pests that are dining on your digits. So much for the mosquito situation. I’ll try to devote the rest of the letter to news."
