Description

En 1900, la Société française des Nouvelles Galeries réunies fondée en 1891-1899 par Aristide Canlorbe décide l’ouverture d’une succursale à Angers dont elle confie les plans à l’architecte Auguste Martin. Le bâtiment est conçu sur le modèle des grands magasins parisiens : plan centré sur une vaste trémie ouverte par des balcons à tous les niveaux, ossature métallique à la Eiffel, tour d’angle « porte-drapeau » à lanternon... Le bel immeuble est inauguré le 6 avril 1901. Aujourd'hui, les Galeries Lafayette ont racheté le magasin Source :
