Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Place: Zhaoxing, Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province

Chinese name: 猎豹CS10 (lièbào CS10) Year of launch: 2015

Changfeng had its origins in a military equipment factory and started producing 4x4's in 1988. Until 1996 Changing was a commercial affiliate of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Changfeng is producing the 1991+ Mitsubishi Pajero in license since 1995.

At the 2005 Shanghai Motor Show Changfeng Motor launched the Liebao (Cheetah/Leopard) C1 concept car. Early 2008 Changfeng launched the production version at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit as the Liebao CS7. It probably shares its platform with the Changfeng Liebao Feiteng, which is none other than a locally produced Mitsubishi Pajero iO/Pinin. Sales of the CS7 were poor. After GAC acquired Changfeng, sales went through the roof thanks to the new CS10. Liebao was promoted to the brand's name, and Changfeng chose Leopaard as its English translation, which sounds like a blend of the English word leopard and the Dutch translation of it, luipaard.

The Leopaard-range currently consists of the CS9 compact SUV, CS10, Q6 (based on the late 1990s Pajero) and CT7 pick-up.

Changfeng/Leopaard is faring exceptionally well under the GAC-umbrella, with monthly sales above 10,000 units, as compared to only just over 20,000 sales in the year 2014.
