Description
Italiano: Illustrazione che raffigura una statua in marmo bianco, situata nel Mitreo Fagan ad Ostia antica, attualmente alla Biblioteca Vaticana, riprodotta nel libro di Franz Cumont, in The Mysteries of Mithra, 1903, fig. 20, pag. 105 (=CIMRM 312-3).[1]


Accanto alla base la statua presenta un'iscrizione, risalente al 190 d.C., che recita: «C(aius) VALERI / VS HERACLES PAT(er) / ET C(aii) VALERII / VITALIS ET NICO / MES SACERDO / TES S(ua) P(e)C(unia) P(o)S(ue)R(unt) / D(e)D(icatum) IDI(bus) AVG(ustis) IMP(eratore) / COM(modo) / VI ET / SEPTI / MIANO / CO(n)S(ulibus)»[2]
