Perched above iconic Folk Art Painted Lips, Rescue Terrier Mr Snuggles, saved from euthanasia, sweetly kisses his Rescuer! BEST KISS EVER!

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Humanity has recognized meaningful symbols in our landscape since the beginning of human consciousness. Similar in nature to Kissing The Blarney Stone, this natural rock formation achieved mythic status in the community as luscious lips as early as the 1940's. In 1977, artist, L.G. resident, and cheeky 17-year-old artist Steven Garcia decided that the lips he saw in the rocky formation needed some paint. Throughout the years the lips have changed colors many times from red, to pink, polka dot, even yellow to celebrate "Lemon Grove Days"! Today, the famous folk art "Lemon Grove Lips" continues to be maintained as a piece of public art by the City of Lemon Grove ever since. The 4' high artwork has been seen by countless motorists over the years and remain one of the symbols of Lemon Grove, even though they are technically located a few feet into La Mesa and can only be seen well by standing across the border into Lemon Grove. On holidays of love, such as Valentine's Day, local folks go there to KISS the lips and Kiss each other to cement their love for all time! Here, Pet Rescuer legend, Victoria Turner, is affectionately kissed by Mister Snuggles, the dog she saved from euthanasia at the local shelter. A truer love has never been known!
