Description
Norsk bokmål: Leirbrua, Byåsen, eksteriør. Leirbrua (broen over Leirelva), gnr. 188/1, Leinstrand, sør for Leirelva, vest for Flatåsen, hvor Kongsvegen passerer Leirelva. To kongeveier sørfra møttes ved Leirbrua og fortsatte som én til Trondheim. Leirbru aver det siste skysskiftet før Trondheim. Stedet er nevnt 1. gang 1667 og var til 1834 en bygselplass under gården Flatås. Gjestgiveri fra 1600 – tallet. Driften av vertshuset opphørte kort tid etter 1. verdenskrig, men det ble opprettholdt kaffesservering noen år. Senere ble stedet brukt som sommerbolig, inntil kommunen 1969 i forbindelse med planlagt veiutbygging, kjøpte det. Hovedbygningen på Leirbrua var oppført på 1700 – tallet og ble revet 1971, mens uthusene var revet tidligere.
