Summary
[edit]DescriptionLeeds Charity School, Mark Lane - geograph.org.uk - 1322776.jpg |
English: Leeds Charity School, Mark Lane. The Leeds Charity School was founded by public subscription in 1705, but by 1815 it had fallen into decay. The building was then replaced by the one seen here, which was intended to provide education for 40 to 80 girls. It adjoined Harrison's almshouses (at its far end), which were demolished many years ago.
