Title |
lead alloy musket ball ch2007-21 |
||
Description |
English: A lead alloy musket ball. The shot is spherical and it has a diameter of 19.4mm. The ball has a large casting flash and is complete. The colour of the ball is light grey and dusty with a rough surface. It is post medieval and probably dates from 1644. Musket balls are discussed in Courtney’s “Small Arms Accessories of the Mid-Seventeenth Century” (1988) and on page 202 of “Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition” by Geoff Egan (2005). |
