Le télescope d'origine de l'Observatoire astronomique de Sheshan est toujours sous sa coupole L'observatoire astronomique de Sheshan a été fondé par une mission jésuite française en 1900, au sommet de la colline de Sheshan, située à quelques dizaines de kilomètres de Shanghai. Le fondateur est un jésuite français : le Père Stanislas Chevalier (1852-1930) L'observatoire possédait à l'époque le plus grand télescope d'Asie de l'Est. Cet équipement a permis d'observer la comète de Halley lors de son passage près de la Terre en 1910. En 1950, l'observatoire a été cédé à la Chine. Le bâtiment d'origine avec sa coupole et son téléscope a été transformé en musée des sciences mais de nouveaux locaux ont été construits à proximité par l'Académie des Sciences de Chine pour les chercheurs de l'observatoire de Shanghai. <a href="http://www.shao.ac.cn/" rel="nofollow">www.shao.ac.cn/</a> |
