Le fort Junagarh a été édifié entre 1588 et 1593 par le Raja Rai Singh, général de l'armée de l'empereur moghol Akbar. Ce bâtiment militaire très imposant comprend plusieurs palais qui ont été agrandis jusqu'en 1937 par les maharajas de Bikaner.
