English: Commemorative plaque affixed on 7th of June 1910 on the occasion of the first centenary of the uprising against the napoleonic occupation of Spain.
Location of the plaque : León, Corral de San Guisán, 3
The plaque reads : A LOS HEROES / DE LA GUERRA DE / LA INDEPENDENCIA / EN LA GLORIOSA / JORNADA DEL 7 DE / JUNIO DE 1810 / LEON EL 7 DE JUNIO DE 1910 The commemorated event is described by H. García Luengo (1882-1954) in 'León y su provincia en la Guerra de la Independencia española' (1908) ; but his account has been recently disputed. |
