Description
English: Medieval gold finger ring, C 20mm in diameter and 1mm thick. the ring is in good condition and weighs 1.73grams. The band widens slighty as it approaches the bezel , 5mm long and 4mm wide, which is sub spherical with a slightly flattened base; The bezel and band appears to have been cast in one piece. The bezel is set with a rounded cabochon cut stone of a deep pinky red colour, which could be Garnet, Ruby or Tourmaline.

The ring is similar to 3 examples in TAR 2004 which all date to 12-13th century.
