Title |
Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age Leaf Shaped Arrowhead |
||
Description |
English: A nearly complete flint knapped late Neolithic to early Bronze Age leaf-shaped arrowhead, dating to c. 4000-1500 BC. Both faces of the arrowhead are invasively retouched, with nearly completely covering removals, particularly on the ventral face. The small protrusion or unfinished portion on the proximal end suggests this arrowhead might have had a purposeful protrusion for hafting. Cf. Bond, 'Guide to the Identification, Assessment and Recording of Lithics, Version 1', p. 147, Fig. 5.133, no. 182. The flint is composed of even dark brown material with no visible chert inclusions. |
