Description
English: Western Gull Larus occidentalis on a beach in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. The gull dropped the crab on the beach from a height of about 15 m (50 feet), and then came down to peck out the flesh from the shell. The drop may have been performed to try and break the shell, or at least stun the crab before trying to open the shell with its beak.
