sivi svračak Opis vrste D.t. 19–21 cm. Rasprostranjen je u južnoj i jugoistočnoj Evropi, Maloj Aziji, na Bliskom istoku i delovima centralne i zapadne Azije. Selica je, zimu provodi u podsaharskoj Africi. Staništa su mu livade, pašnjaci, stepe, slatine ili mozaična poljoprivredna područja sa drvoredima, šumarcima, žbunjem ili voćnjacima. Gnezda gradi na drveću ili žbunju. Hrani se krupnim insektima (skakavci, tvrdokrilci, vilini konjici), ređe drugim sitnim životinjama (sitni sisari, gušteri). U Evropi preovladava trend umerenog opadanja populacije, što je posledica nestajanja staništa usled intenziviranja poljoprivrede. U Srbiji se gnezdi 350–450 parova, a brojnost značajno opada (Puzović et al 2009).
