Description
English: Lalbagh Fort, also known as Lalbagh Kella or Fort Aurangabad, is a historic Mughal fort located in the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It was constructed in the 17th century by Prince Muhammad Azam, the son of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The fort showcases the exquisite Mughal architectural style and stands as a significant cultural and historical landmark in Bangladesh.

Lalbagh Fort comprises several structures within its complex, including the Diwan-i-Aam (Public Audience Hall), the Diwan-i-Khas (Private Audience Hall), the Tomb of Pari Bibi (the daughter of Prince Azam), a mosque, and the iconic Lalbagh Fort Gate. The fort was initially intended to be a grand palace for Prince Azam, but construction was left incomplete due to the untimely death of his mother.

Despite its unfinished state, Lalbagh Fort's architectural splendor and historical significance draw visitors from around the world. The fort's red-brick walls, intricately designed gateways, and lush gardens create a serene and captivating ambiance. Inside the complex, visitors can explore the museum that houses a collection of artifacts, including weapons, pottery, and calligraphy from the Mughal period.

Lalbagh Fort stands as a testament to the grandeur and craftsmanship of the Mughal era, offering a glimpse into Bangladesh's rich history and cultural heritage. It serves as a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of national pride.
