Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Lake Sherman outflow drop with covering debris cage at Growden Dam. Sherman Creek was originally damned in the late 1930's to create the 80 acres (32 ha) "Lake Sherman" for recreational use of Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Growden and proposed as a park after the Camp closed. Construction of State Route 20 in the late 1950's in much of the Creek bed resulted in the Lake filling in very rapidly. The dam was removed and stream restored to free flowing condition in 2010.
