Description
English: Goma, North Kivu, DRC - About twenty women political candidates for the 2023 elections as well as women from the civil society of North Kivu have widely debated on Thursday 23 June at the "Maison des femmes" in Goma on the participation of women, electoral behaviours, political communication and also the chain related to the electoral process. This was done during a capacity building workshop organised by the Gender section of MONUSCO in collaboration with the PAGE commission (Pool Action Genre et Elections). The objective, according to the organisers, was to encourage women to be well prepared to face the 2023 legislature. Laila Bourhil, head of the MONUSCO/Goma office who attended the workshop, encouraged women to redouble their efforts to make their voices heard in the name of peace and social cohesion.
