Middle Age Unicursal Labyrinth, 49x49 grid. Renaissance design from the Monastery Church of St. Bertin in St.-Omer, France, c. 1500

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Unicursal Labyrinth, reproduced from Designs and Patterns from Historic Ornament (Dover Pictorial Archive), W. and G. Audsley. According to Hermann Kern, Through the Labyrinth, Prestel, 2000, p. 162, the design appeared originally in the Monastery Church of St. Bertin in St.-Omer, France, probably in the late 15th or early 16th century. It was used as model for the very similar labyrinth in the town hall of Ghent in 1533.
