English: Centre de Fabrication Additive Les nouvelles techniques d'impression 3D ou de fabrication additive sont au cœur des enjeux des usines du futur. Elles permettent de réaliser des pièces très complexes, et donnent accès à tout un nouveau monde de conception de pièces à partir de leur fonction, ou de création de microstructures efficaces permettant d'atteindre des performances jusqu'alors inaccessibles. Pour Polytechnique et pour l'ENSTA, la mise en place d'un centre de fabrication additive permet de développer de nouvelles compétences chez les étudiants, de créer des opportunités d'innovation, d'être acteur de la recherche au cœur de l'industrie et de l'innovation, en particulier dans les secteurs du transport et de la défense. En particulier, le LMS se préoccupe des études de faisabilité, des aspects de modélisation et d’optimisation du process en fabrication ou en réparation, d’analyses de la structure et de la fiabilité des matériaux et microstructures développées. En termes d’équipement, le LMS dispose avec l’ENSTA d' une imprimante métallique laser à poudres de type "MOBILE" de la Société BEAM (procédé LMD par projection de poudre).
