La porte principale du Taj Mahal Le hall de la porte principale est octogonal, il est entouré de petites pièces latérales. Le bâtiment est en grès rouge, avec des décors floraux polychromes en pierres dures semi-précieuses incrustées dans des plaques de marbre blanc. Des versets du Coran en script Thulth sont en marbre noir incrusté sur un fond de marbre blanc. La porte est surmontée par une rangée de petites coupoles de marbre blanc. De chaque coté, chaque colonne est surmontée d'un kiosque de style hindou. ________________ Le Taj Mahal est un mausolée de marbre blanc (provenant du Rajasthan) construit entre 1632 et 1648 (ou 1653) à Agra par l'Empereur moghol Shah Jahan pour recevoir le corps de son épouse Mumtaz Mahal, morte en 1631.
