Autels au premier étage du centre Kagyu Dzong

Le centre Kagyu Dzong est une pagode tibétaine, traditionnelle, édifiée en 1985, conçue par l'architecte Jean-Luc Massot selon les instructions de Kalou Rimpoché, grand maître tibétain mort en 1989. Ce centre est consacré à la lignée Kagyupa du bouddhisme tibétain.

Les quatre piliers du bâtiment symbolisent les « Quatre Nobles Vérités » énoncées par le Bouddha au parc des gazelles à Sarnath prés de Bénarès et la marquise qui surplombe l'entrée rappelle la prééminence du spirituel sur le matériel.

De même que la flèche qui s'érige au-dessus du temple est le symbole de la vacuité, notion particulièrement développée dans le Mahayana ou grand véhicule dont le bouddhisme tibétain ou Vajrayana, constitue une extension logique.

Sur la façade le dharma-chakra entouré de deux gazelles symbolise le premier sermon du Bouddha. Ce centre est habité à l'année et de nombreuses cérémonies et enseignements y sont donnés régulièrement par des lamas invités ou résidents.
