Description

Située au Nord - est de Haiphong, la baie d’Halong fait partie du golfe du Tonkin. Elle s’étend sur une superficie de 1553 Km2 et est semée de milliers de roches calcaires au relief karstique. On y compte 1969 îles et îlots, la plupart non habités en raison de leur relief escarpé et donc préservés. Connue au Vietnam depuis plusieurs siècles comme le plus beau paysage du pays, la baie d’Halong a été classée au patrimoine mondial par l’Unesco en 1994.
