Object history
English: This was taken from a real-life study portraying a landscape as seen from a church tower with 'patchy' light effects. The work was commissioned by the Prince of Denmark Christian Frederik during a stay by the artist in Naples, as a gift to Ferdinand IV in appreciation for the hospitality received at the Real Casina di Quisisana in Castellammare.
