Tret d’identitat familiar i d’ofici.

In the towns of Castellar de n'Hug and Bagà, sheep farming is an ancestral activity that revolves around the figure of the shepherd. The shepherd currently owns the flock and controls most of the process - breeding, feeding and sale - for reasons of profitability. The number of heads per herd ranges from 600 to 800, a sufficient number to be raised, sold and cared for by a single shepherd. The herd is kept in stables in the winter and taken to the meadows when spring arrives until the first snows. Family and work identity card. The vast majority of pastors know each other and claim to be part of an ancient profession that is in danger of disappearing. They all say that they dedicate themselves to it by vocation despite the financial difficulties to continue it. Their activity is associated with a type of healthy, respectful and necessary diet for the conservation of landscape environments.
