| Description |
English: At the beginning of the twentieth century, the fashion of spas led the Catalan bourgeoisie to build summer residences near the hot springs. La Garriga, with its Blancafort spa, less than forty kilometers from Barcelona, was one of its favorite destinations.
Manuel Joaquim Raspall, municipal architect of La Garriga, was a pupil of the modernist masters Domènech i Muntaner and Puig i Cadafalch. Inspired by modernism designed the 4 houses of the “mansana Raspall”, the Bombonera green, the Barbey House, pink, the yellow Iris Tower and the house Antoni Barraquer, blue, were declared cultural assets of national interest in 1997.
Català: A principis del Segle XX, la moda dels balnearis va portar a la burguesía catalana a construïr residències d´estiueig a prop de les aigües termals.
La Garriga, amb el seu balneari Blancafort, a menys de quaranta quilòmetres de Barcelona, fou una de les seves destinacions preferides. Manel Joaquim Raspall, arquitecte municipal de La Garriga, era deixeble dels mestres modernistes Domènech i Muntaner i Puig i Cadafalch. Amb inspiració modernista, va dissenyar les 4 cases de l´”illa Raspall”, la Bombonera de color verd, la Casa Barbey , de color rosa, la Torre Iris groga i la casa Antoni Barraquer, de color blau, foren declarades bens culturals d´interès nacional al 1997. |
