Description
Deutsch: Einfahrend von Hönow, der Einsatz von Kleinprofilwagen mit Profilausgleich ist eine Folge der unerwartet notwendig gewordenen Ausmusterung der meisten Wagen der Reihe F. Ihr Weiterbetrieb war aufgrund des schlechten Zustandes der Aluminiumwagenkästen nicht mehr vertretbar.

Die Wagen der Lieferung IK17 wurden gleich beim Hersteller an die Großprofilverhältnisse angepasst, dabei mussten auch die Wagenkästen um 75 mm hochgesetzt werden. Nach der BO Strab dürfen die Wagenböden nicht tiefer als die Bahnsteige liegen. Um ein Abschieben durch Großprofilzüge zu ermöglichen, erhielten die Zugenden zusätzlich aufgesetzte Kupplungsadapter zum Ausgleich des Höhenunterschiedes. Diese kuppeln jedoch nur mechanisch.
Die Züge kehren hier zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt am Bahnsteig.

Die Zusatzziffer hinter der vierstelligen Wagennummer ist keine Selbstkontrollziffer wie bei den EDV-Nummern der Fernbahn, sie kennzeichnet die einzelnen Wagen einer Vier- bzw. Sechswageneinheit und sollte deshalb auch im Fließtext nicht weggelassen werden.
