Deutsch: Aufgepallt am Nordostende des Magdeburger Handelshafens in unmittelbarer Nähe der Hafenhubbrücke; das 1894 gebaute erste Kettenschleppschiff der zweiten Generation auf der Elbe überlebte nur, weil es nach seiner Ausmusterung 1931 an Land aufgepallt und als Sportbootschuppen und Gaststätte genutzt wurde. Es ist das einzige vollständig erhaltene Kettenschleppschiff der Elbfahrt. Blick auf das Heck, das Schiff ist nahezu symmetrisch, die Richtung ist jedoch an der Neigung des Schornsteins und an der Anordnung des Schleppgeschirrs erkennbar. Das Bugruder erwies sich schnell als unverzichtbar, um zusammen mit den schwenkbaren Kettenauslegern auch in der Kettenfahrt manövrierfähig zu bleiben und die Kette möglichst in Flussmitte ablegen zu können. Die Schiffe dieser zweiten Generation wiesen als Neuerung einen Wasserstrahlantrieb zur Revier- und Talfahrt ohne Kettennutzung auf. Damit wurden Ausweichvorgänge an der Kette , die den Betrieb sonst massiv behinderten, bis auf ein Mindestmaß reduziert. |
