Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This photography exhibition uncovers complex issues surrounding the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Russian invasion of Ukraine started in 2014 with annexation of Crimea and continued to the East of Ukraine leading to thousands of deaths and millions of people relocated. Photography exposes the effect the war has on the military and the civilians – both groups terrorised by the ruthless power of war and scarred for the rest of their lives. The unfolding humanitarian catastrophe that followed has underlined the fragility of peace even at a time, when a lot of us think that a war in Europe is a thing of the past and a subject-matter for historians to analyse. The photographer reveals the relevance of this problem to the European audience and reinforces the fact that the on-going Russian aggression and military conflict in Ukraine is bringing devastation to modern Europe.
